I think there is a very clear distinction in this show between first and second half. And there was also the moment in the drama where him and his mother see Jandi seeling food at a light and his mom tries to make it humiliating for Jandi, but Junpyo gets out of the car and runs to Jandi and kisses her in the middle of the street in front of his mother. Junpyo was willing to sacrifice his life for her though, when he went to meet her kidnappers alone and was willing to be beaten to death so they would let her go.
